Secure Energy Services Inc. (Secure) is committed to environmental protection and is
committed to maintaining a high level of environmental awareness in all phases of its
operations. As part of this commitment, Secure adheres to the policies and procedures as
set out in the Canadian Petroleum Association's "Environmental Code of Practice" and has
adopted this into our Corporate Environmental Policy.
The key guiding principles,
which form the basis of Secure's Environmental Policy, are as follows:
Planning
Secure will assess the potential impact of all projects and operations upon the environment and will integrate the appropriate protective measures into the planning process to minimize these impacts.
Consultation
Secure will maintain open lines of communication with government, regulatory agencies, aboriginal groups and the public with respect to corporate policies and activities that may affect the environment.
Compliance
Secure will comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and industry guidelines pertaining to environmental protection and will ensure that our knowledge of such matters is current.
Corrective Action
Incidents which have the potential for adversely affecting the environment will be reported, assessed and corrected in a timely and effective manner.
Emergency Response
Secure will ensure the programs are in place to minimize the consequences of emergency events on the environment by ensuring prompt and effective response to such events.
To ensure adoption of this policy throughout the organization, all
Secure employees will be trained in environmental issues appropriate to
the job functions and responsibilities. They will be kept updated on a
regular basis on all current regulations and policies pertaining to environmental
issues within the oil and gas industry.
Dealing with emergency situations is a key element in the protection of
the environment. Secure has developed a Corporate Emergency Response Plan
to ensure that these situations are dealt with promptly and effectively.
Secure personnel are expected to be familiar with the contents of this plan
and their respective responsibilities in the event of an emergency situation.
